This is Richard Gerswhin reporting directly from the Exclusion Zone boundary.

If you're just joining us...

... survivors have emerged from inside the Exclusion Zone.

They have been let through, we don't know why, by the Army.

They have been held in a local military base in...

... some sort of quarantine.

They are scared, hungry and come with shocking revelations.

First came the fever, then came violence and a hunger for blood.

This community was held, and tested upon.

Not all are with us now.

Everyone inside the Zone is now infected, it is claimed.

Everyone has succumbed.

Yet the spread of the disease comes only through...

... attacks from infected individuals.

The initial mass contagion is now over.

There is now a renewed anger all along the camps on the boundary.

The military have pulled back into their checkpoints.

We are expecting a statement at any time now.

America sits on a knife-edge.

The one question on everyone's lips:

"Why weren't we told?"
